The Museum offers permanent displays of a schoolroom, early 20th century home interiors, and artifacts and photographs that reflect the heyday of mining, ranching and farming  that drove the economy of the Verde Valley since the arrival of white settlers in the second half of the 19th century.

In addition to several rooms of permanent exhibits, the "Big Room" is changed every year by Exhibit Curator, Mary Liggit. Following the Smithsonian ehxibition, Between Fences, which closed mid-June, 2008.  Liggit is preparing for the next  exhibit in the Big Room, "Ranges", which is scheduled to open in August.
